It's 2015 - and Ariens Company decided to go digital this year by creating a video Christmas greeting to share with friends, customers, employees and vendors this holiday season. The video, posted below, was filmed and created by Green Bay-based video production studio NorthCoast Productions.
NorthCoast Productions editor Stasia Lenhart said the video took seven hours to film and three days to edit, color correct and revise.
"One of the harder parts about the video was that we wanted to give the feel of Christmas, without being corny or too cutesy," said Lenhart. "This is Ariens. It is tough, American manufacturing, and we wanted to portray that."
The video was shot on a Sony PMW-F3 with a variety of Zeiss prime lenses.
"The biggest challenge of the shoot ended up on the cutting room floor," Lenhart said. "How could we make it look like there was a big snow storm outside, when it was 45 degrees with 5:30 p.m. rush hour traffic flowing by? Some carefully placed trees, and a little bit of computer-generated magic did the trick."
Throughout the day, the crew did an excellent job of minding the space of the workers who were doing their jobs on the floor.
"The most fun was the funny looks and smile we go from the Ariens team members in the plant," Lenhart said. "Imagine if Santa and his elves showed up at your work! All of us at NorthCoast would like to send a big thank you to the workers who taught our elves how to properly hold the power tools, and for all of the knowledge about what goes into the manufacturing the best snow throwers in the business."
