Rated 5 out of 5 by What a Machine!! Just took delivery of the Hydro Pro track 28" with 420cc engine. I traded in my Toro 1332 Power Shift for this new machine. The reason I bought a new snow blower was the Toro would always get clogged up when I needed it the most, even using the spray. I would then have to use my single stage Honda. Our driveway is 250" long with 70' wide by the garage doors. I would always have to blow the driveway twice because the Toro was inferior to the Honda on heavy snow. We just had 16" of snow in Chicago on Feb 1st, and the first attempt to clear the snow was wet and heavy. I was tired of having to do all this extra work. That should now be a distant memory!! Our driveway is now clean and dry but obviously I need to find some snow to try out the new machine. Two and half feet of packed snow at the edge of the driveway would be a good test. The combination of Auto steer plus Hydro drive makes maneuvering very easy with no stress on the back, even on dry pavement. . I was concerned about buying the Trac system vs tires based on online reviews, but this combo is perfect and very easy to operate. The engine is quiet and smooth, and easy to pull start, even though it has electric start. The machine went thru the packed snow like a hot knife thru butter, and the volume of snow being thrown looked like I was making snow for a ski hill. What a blast!. Can't wait for the next snow fall. Rated 5 out of 5 by Track 24 Model 920022 This is a tank with an attached snow blower. I have a steep and dangerous driveway that this track model laughs at. The unit is not especially fast but I'm in no hurry. Safety is my primary concern and that's what this model delivers. Contractors would definitely want a larger model.Turning on tracks was a concern but I quickly learned to turn while in motion. It takes some effort but nothing an average person can't handle. I plow a ground-level trex deck attached to my home and I can get within six inches of the siding without problem. Again, I plan my turns in advance. The track model allows me to raise the front off the ground (two positions) and drive across grass or any other irregular surface, plowing as I travel. I find that very useful when plowing my deck or moving from one part of my property to another. Deep snow on the lawn is no longer a barrier to winter travel.I store mine in a shed. I drive straight in, store it and back straight out when I need it. Yes, movement is somewhat challenging due to high track friction. If you attach small, sturdy castors to a 24" by 24" sheet of plywood you can raise the unit, slide the platform underneath and then move the blower where you want it. Wheeled units are much easier to move so be sure you can deal with tracks.I replaced the metal skid shoes with the non-abrasive shoes. I plow a trex deck along with expensive pavers and I DO NOT want to scratch either surface. The non-abrasive shoes are all I'll ever use.If you need a track unit for your home I strongly suggest you consider this model. I purchased mine from a local dealer who assembled, tested and delivered it to my home ready to go. January 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Did not know what to expect but now after using very happy with unit Hydro Pro 28inch I bought this Hydro pro track in Oct and just received first snow, did not know what to expect, but I'm satisfied with how it does the job of snow blowing. I replaced my DR unit with this as I have had major shoulder work done and can't be pulling back or pushing down on the handle bars to transport. I have hill going around my deck and did not know how it would back up the hill. If you keep the engine at full thottleit does back up slow but it does come up the hill that is major to me/.I like the hydro as you can set your own speed and just walk behind let it do the work. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for a very steep driveway Recently purchased Compact Snow Thro and have used it twice on our driveway and parking areas in Connecticut. I am generally satisfied with its performance to date. It works best on new, dry snow that is at least 2-3 inches in depth. It does not work well with slushy snow (clogs the discharge chute) and does not get down to the pavement well, leaving a coating of snow particularly if it has been packed down a bit by the passage of our regular snowplow guy. It doesn't "breeze through hard packed snow drifts" as advertised. It will merely ride up over hard packed snow. I would like to be able to adjust the scraper blade to actually scrape down to the pavement. January 28, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Compact track 24 slow/hard turn I ordered the track that had the lever to help steer it but didn't receive that unit. This Compact Track 24 is very difficult to turn around at the end of the drive. You have to stop and pick up on the handles and swing it around to face the direction you want to go. It is also extremely slow even in the fastest gear and reverse is 10 times slower. Unlike my wheeled unit I used to have, you cannot move this without starting it and putting it in gear. You can't push or pull it. January 23, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Snowblower All Around First big storm yesterday and I was able to start using this blower first thing in the morning. The machine started easily on the 2nd pull. The head light worked excellent in the dark and the machine performed flawlessly. The large gas tank allowed me to clear snow to the bottom of my my hill and back up. This is roughly 2/3 of a mile. I still had fuel to spare when I got back to the house. The handwarmers did there job. The unit has excellent shoot operation and love the easy controls. I used the snowblower for 7 hours straight and never had a clog. This was with 18 inches of snow. The tracks are amazing. I live on a mountain and the steep grade to my house makes getting plow trucks to the house impossilbe with this amount of snow. So I used the snowblower to walk up and down the hill 6 times. The snowblower never slipped and walked right up the hill clearing the heavy snow the entire time. This units build is very robust and well built. The tracked machine is excellent in just about every way except turning is a bit of a workout. Small price to pay and it sure beats a shovel. February 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Happy overall, but has some drawbacks Let me start by saying that overall I do like this snowblower. It handles bigger storms just fine. It throws the snow well and doesn't bog down even in 18 inches of snow. That being said, it is pretty slow, even at its fastest pace, so if there are only a couple of inches of snow it goes much slower than necessary to clear effectively. The biggest gripe I have so far is turning. It has nothing to assist you with turning around so you have to just wrangle it 180 degrees around. It definitely gives you a bit of workout, and if you have a gravel driveway like I do it pushes the gravel up into a mound where you turned. Otherwise, I am happy with the unit, I haven't had any issues and I live in the Tetons where we get 100+ inches per season. Just wish turning was easier, or I had realized how difficult it would be to maneuver before purchasing. November 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Unit - Just Don't Expect "FAST" Results This unit has fantastic construction. Nothing "flimsy" about it. We didn't have much snow this year, but the snow we had was wet and very heavy. It threw it like a boss. My only gripe is that the fastest forward gear is painfully slow - it really needs a stepup ratio transmission. April 2, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by One thumbs up... We bought this unit to help us in & out of a recent mtn cabin purchase. It was a stop gap purchase for the 13/14 winter.. Our Ariens has to work hard at times because were blowing snow that has been on the ground for a while plus it has to go through snow piles left by a metal cabin roof. After approx 8 uses here's my humble summary. It starts nicely EVERY time. The motor feels strong enough at all times. It's never died yet due to work load.Big snow blowers like this one move along at a SLOW pace & reverse is a crawl. ( My snow blowing area takes two hours.)This machine will try to crawl over wet, dense, packed snow and can literally try to crawl over some snow berms or end up stopped in tall wet piles. ( Stopped / stuck, I'm guessing, is hard on the track system. I'm seeing some failure in one track when this happens.)The light placement engineering could be improved to do a better job of lighting its path. The tilt back feature is very important for turning etc and the mechanism seems to hang up more often than I'm comfortable with. I don't force it because I think something will break sooner than later. ( I better study the manual too...)We may upgrade to some sort of plow but we'll definitely keep this Ariens for fine tuning tight areas. With snowblowers being in high demand this season, I think this model is a good long term value. In a perfect world it would be fun to test out the top five brands of bigger snow blowers so one could be comfortable recommending one to a friend. :)Thanks.#biLL February 17, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by great reviews, poor resalts I just bought one yesterday, it was the last one they had and boy was I happy to get it ( even at the $2200 price with tax.). Had almost 2' of snow in the drive way and my back didn't want to shovel anymore. The blower got dropped of the same day, went and got gas from the station got home filled it up and started blowing away. That was all fine and dandy, till I try to take the choke off. The thing will only run on full choke, and I use run loosely. Has no power to blow the snow just stalls out after a min or so. I got myself a nice orange lemon and an empty wallet with this one. I can only hope the place I got it will take it back. Going to be a long winter in prince Edward island other wise.. December 21, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by this thing eats snows lunch the place i purchased my airens from sold honda troy built and cub cadet the salesman said that hands down the airens was the best he was right starts on first pull goes thru anything it needs to be faster on top speed and faster in reverse also the headlight could be brighter those are small items considering how great this thing works the people of airens make a great product October 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good machine, so far. Though I have only had the machine one season, overall, it seems to be a very good machine so far. It will flat move the snow, and minimizes the snow I have to double blow. So far, I do prefer the individual track steering on my previous machine, but am getting used to the differential setup on this machine. Seems like the snow chute could be a little more sturdy and positive. As for durability, the machine seems very sturdy overall, so that should not be an issue, but I do not know yet??? I would very much like online and/or phone access for parts, rather than going thru a dealer. April 5, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 Not all it's cracked up to be Pro’s• Quality seems very good.• Quick turn snow shoot chute is nice.• Track grips well.• Units turns well with diff lock not engaged.• Starts easily when cold.Con’s• Unit is way under powered for a pro model. Really disappointing.• Takes several pulls to start when warm.• Quick turn chute should turn further in both directions.• Should move faster in forward and reverse. Even if it wouldn’t engage the auger to do so. January 29, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Performance on Heavy Wet Snow I have only had an opportunity to use my new Hydro Pro Track 28 twice this year. But on March 23 in Chicago we had 3-4 inches of heavy wet slushy snow. We have a large driveway and for me this was the ultimate test.So I shoveled the snow into a large pile, at least a foot thick by about 30 feet long and started the blower. The Ariens went thru the pile like nothing and at full speed. In fact the more snow there was in the auger the better it worked. Needless to say I was very excited about the results. March 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This machine can go through anything We received a 38" snow storm this February. My 1970 Ariens 724 was just barely able to to get through it. I replaced the 724 with Hydro Pro Track 28 to finish clearing my driveway, and the back yard so the Dog could run. This machine can get through anything. It has no problem with 3 day old Snow Plow crud and can go across a lawn without damaging it. I tried to stall it by driving it into the Plow crud and it would not stall. It starts on the first or second pull every time.I love it. Hopefully it will last as long as my 724 did, which is still running at a friends house. March 28, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product so far, cuts right through heavy well packed drifts. Wanted a snow thrower to handle the well packed drifts we get in front of our garage door. This machine cuts right through with ease and the 420cc engine gives you plenty of options (near or far) on where to throw the snow. The controls for changing the direction of where you throw the can be done using one hand while the machine is in motion. Seems to be put together well, time will tell. Hope to have this beast for many years to come. January 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceptional design, engineering and durable mostly all metal construction. As an Engineer and licensed General Engineering Contractor, holding several other related pertinent certifications and classifications in the construction industry for more than 50 years. I have operated, owned, leased, rented and hired all types of light and heavy equipment form earth movers, excavators, tractors, track dozers, trenchers, pavers, compactors, rollers, etc. Without reservation, I can unequivocally state that the ARIENS HYDRO PRO TRACK 32 Model 926514 is exceptional. With many exclusive features, including power transmission, steering, construction, durability and in my opinion the best track system in the industry. This is the finest snow blower I have ever owned. I have owned many over the years . . .Thank you ARIENS: October 24, 2013
