Rated 5 out of 5 by great snow thrower right out of the box , started on 1'st pullvery easy set-upgreat design December 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent compact snow blower. Bought this snow blower thinking it could handle my two car driveway and so far it has handle the two car driveway, sidewalk, neighbors driveway plus sidewalks without any issues. And most importantly it has handle this 2013-2014 record breaking snowfall here at Illinois so far.Hope it will last like all of those I know who has an Ariens snow blower. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works great I was set on buying the higher cc machine but the place where I buy all of my lawn and garden items only had the smaller one. I was torn with the bigger cc being only a 100.00 more. Save your 100.00 the smaller one works "Fantastic" . One pull start, clears snow great and no more shovels. Twenty years ago I paid the same amount for another brand as I did today with Ariens. Super great buy and great warranty. January 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy use Started on second pull. First snow was a wet 7" snow, blower had no problem. Only design that needs changed is adding oil. If you don't have a flexible funnel you have to tilt blower up to add oil. Changing oil will be easy. Perfect size for small driveway and sidewalks. I also like how Home Depot registers product for you. December 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice functional single stage snow blower This snow blower has more than paid for itself this winter. Starts on the first pull every time. I needed a small snow blower for clearing snow from my deck. Shoveling and tossing snow over a 4 foot high railing was backbreaking.A couple of nit picks:* Filling the gas tank can be a bit of a chore, a funnel or a long spout on your gas can is needed.* The On/Off fuel valve is not very accessible. That said, my only complaint is the accessory Single Stage Sno-Thro Cover Part Number: 73801100. Looking at the Ariens photo, it shows the cover completely covering the snow blower. This is NOT true, the elastic bottom does NOT fit properly... It does not cover the front paddles, the front housing, and the wheels are also totally exposed. Based on the quality of Ariens products I am surprised they are selling this poor fitting accessory. I understand this cover fits other Ariens single stage models but at least be upfront in your description to the customer. Save your money, get a inexpensive tarp and a couple of bungee cords. Rated 4 out of 5 by Powers right on thru Purchased my 208 model last December just prior our record-breaking winter snowfall. This unit could handle the heaviest of snowfalls, and would even go though the snow the plows pushed-in off the street. This unit can really throw the snow quite a distance too. Mine has always started on 1-2 pulls. Never have plugged the output shute. Only difficulty has been restarts if I stalled it out (end of driveway dense stuff). I found that you have to re-apply the choke. Per an earlier comment about the difficulty with oil filling, I have for years used a cleaned-out dish soap container for my small engines which allows you to "squirt" the oil into the fill neck, and control the oil flow. Rated 1 out of 5 by Died after one season Bought mine during the Great Snowpocalypse in Michigan early Jan 2014. After some initial difficulties getting to know my first snowblower, it worked fantastic! Absolutely loved taking on Mother Nature. (Our 2014 snowfall was twice the annual average.) Probably used it 10-20 days last winterEnter Jan 2015. In spite of fresh gas and garage temperatures in the low 30s, it won't start. Manual? Nothing. Electronic start? Nothing. When it worked, it was great (hence 5* for Performance), but I don't think an annual visit to the repair shop is a reasonable expectation for a $400 snowblower. January 10, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Died after 2 uses Purchased from Home Depot, used the Ariens Snow Path twice. After a snow fall of ~4" went to use again. Could not after multiple attempts, get the machine to start. Took it back to Home Depot where they too couldn't get it to start. At first they wanted to send it off for repair, but I pointed out that it was under 2 weeks old and that this was unacceptable. It took some convincing, but they eventually refunded my money. After talking with coworkers, will go and get a Honda. January 31, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 Very excellent and easy to use This is my first snow blower and totally luv it..it makes job easyy.its effortless and very unique.. Its amazing... It definitely meets my satisfaction and gets the job done in a small amount of time February 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ariens great reputation for performance is proven again 21" snow thrower that doesn't use a gas/oil mix and features an electric starter was the icing on the cake when I needed to replace my single stage Toro. I have used this 4 times since purchase in Bucks County, PA and have not been disappointed. Needs a little time to warm up before shutting off the choke, but gets down to business like a pro. Gas tank large enough to run machine at least 2-3 hours. Gas shut off valve is difficult to reach and turn off/on. Need to redesign it's location.I used to own an Ariens rototiller that still worked after 20 years. This unit will be passed on to my grandchildren for sure :) January 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very reliable, and one pull start. Great power . . . So far so good ! -10 degrees works fine. Looks so good, I have to cover and lock it up. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does what's advertised So far, so good. I've had the Path-Pro 136-E for a couple months and have been able to use it for the Polar Vortex snowfalls here in New Jersey. It starts up the first time, and has handled everything I've thrown at it (including an accidental newspaper that was buried). I consider it a very worthwhile investment. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent Machine . I have had two storms in which I Gould evaluate this piece of equipment .It has performed flawlessly . The electric start feature is intense . I have had other machines in the past which had two stroke engines and were manual start . Starting was a problem and they didn't have enough power . This machine has the power and runs very well. In short I like it very much . January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by As long as you use ethanol free gas it will start on one pull Once the engine starts let it run for at LEAST 5 minutes to warm up. This snow blower has no problems tackling 3-4 foot snow drifts. January 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very pleased with this product. Product has performed as well or better than anticipated, especially during this snowy winter. February 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good snow machine for the money We just had are first major snow storm in Kansas City area February 4 and 5th 2014. This machine handled 9 to 10 inches of light fluffy snow with no problem what so ever. It stalled a couple of times on 12 to 14 inch spots. Just make sure there no rocks or chips of cement in the driveway or side walk this will find them and shoot them like a sling shot. I came close to taken my neighbor window. Otherwise this is a good little machine. Just waiting on some heavy snow to see this machine can hold up February 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by An improvement could make it better The little door on top of the blower should be larger. It is not easy to reach in to open or close the fuel line switch. I don't know a whole lot about mechanical things and it took awhile to even find the thing. It is well hidden! Overall I like the Ariens as I am 85 and can handle it with ease as opposed to some others, like John Deere, which are very heavy and hard for me to handle. January 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This baby can kick some snow butt It's a good snow blower I have used it four or five times. I would however have liked it more if for that kind of money I didn't have to stop to manually turn the chute still I am satisfied with my snow blower January 29, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Solid Has no issues starting and does well in deeper and heavier snow as well.Only issue I had was when my belt broke due to going over a belt buried under a neighbors snow the spring broke as well. The belt is very easy to swap. The problem is the spring is hard to find in stock at local dealers. I am going to buy a couple of springs and belts to have on hand. The nice thing about these machines is they do not require special tools and the motor and gas tank are well covered. My parents electric start had a short in no time. I would stick with the manual start. The performance is really good. February 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice features and quality design Nice features and design. Made in America. Very easy assembly right out of the box. Started on very first pull and purrs like a kitten. The machine is designed so the paddles throw the snow but also pull the machine forward which is similar to having self propel. Unlike the bigger 2 stage machines it's light and maneuvers easily and has plenty of power for Pa winters. Glad I chose the Ariens over the Toro and Troybilt. January 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Used the Path Pro in 3 storms already this winter and has worked terrific , handling over 12 inchs snow with no problem. Ver y good on gas, and Great machine , used in 3 snowstorms already this winter, handling over 12 inchs of snow with ease. Very good on gas, light for lifting , but plenty of power, the new cover over the gas cap another great feature. Will be getting more to add to my equipment lineup. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent buy - I love it! I opted for the larger 208cc model and I'm glad I did. This has been a particularly long, cold, snowy winter and I have appreciated going to my garage, pumping the primer 6-8 times, pulling the start cord exactly once and attacking the snow... No matter how deep! Recommended it to my mother (who is 70) because it is so easy to start. The value was great compared to other brands. I was able to get the more powerful motor for less money than competitive models. The warranty is better as well. Overall, very glad I went with the Arien's.Thanks! January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very glad I ended up picking the Ariens Path-Pro I love machines that are well built and the Path-Pro 208 really is. I looked at several brands and read all the reviews I could. The Path-Pro is sold in this market by Home Depot but only on line probably because they sell Toro in their stores so I purchased this one without actually laying hands on one. Easy to start, easy to handle and throws even wet heavy snow well. The 208cc engine has plenty of power. I just hope we get more snow soon so I can give this one another work out. This has to be the best single stage I have ever used or looked at. Thanks to all the folks at Ariens that make these great machines. December 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 THE PRODUCTS DOES A NICE JOB I WENT FROM A 7 HORSE 2 STAGE TO THE SINGLE STAGE LIKE IT. SEEMS TO DO WHAT I NEED January 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overall good machine for the price The only thing I would like to see added to future models of this type is a visual gas gage. January 28, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 Great snow blower! This year (2015) in the northeast has been a record in terms of snow. The Path Pro with the 208 engine has powered through each of the storms with no problem. I can do the drive and the walk in about 20 minutes. It starts with one pull. I haven't yet used the electric start feature. Throws the snow well. February 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 GREAT PERFORMANCE I looked at a lot of other snow blowers before deciding to purchase the Ariens. I'm very satisfied with this snow blower and it's performance. I've moved a lot of snow with this machine throughout this winter season and it's performed extremely well. The build quality is excellent. Ariens has a winner! February 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Great machine. It's been a brutal winter in Buffalo and this machine performed excellent. I'm very happy with this purchase. January 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super Starting. I have the electric start feature and never used it, even at 20 below zero the unit started with only one or two pulls. Now that's quality in a product. January 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Really great machine! This Ariens Pathpro really works great! Thanks for a quality machine. January 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by OVERALL, VERY POWERFUL AND EASY TO START. IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE CHUTE, WOULD BE CONTROLLED AT THE HANDLE, RATHER THAN HAVING TO BEND AND REACH EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO CHANGE IT. January 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Would buy another unit, when and if needed sometime down the road January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent machine This is my first snowthrower. It starts easily and has handled all that a difficult winter has thrown at it. My only criticism is that it does not clean as well in comparison to some other machines. It is certainly cleans well but could be slightly better. Perhaps some adjustment is in order or it needs to break in a bit more. Otherwise, it is a great machine and I am glad I bought it. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good starting and easy on fuel I have several Ariens products and have been quite happy. Hey, made in America! Easy starting machine, my Path-Pro, I haven't used the electric start yet, but I'm sure it works well. My only complaint is the snow shoot. It doesn't blow the snow away when turned left or right from more than the half way position. Straight forward and slight angles it throws quite well. Over all it's a very nice unit. It gets the job done! January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very pleased with this snowthrower Powerful, quiet, starts easily, easy to use, what more do you want in a snowthrower. My last unit was a Toro singlestage. I liked it and got a lot of use from it. The PathPro is definitely a better product. January 28, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Built like a tank This is an addition to my previous review of this product. We got about 8" of snow a couple days ago. My sister and brother-in-law were out of town, and since they only live across the street I thought I'd be nice and blow out their driveway before they got back.Well, while doing their front walk, there was a steel cable dog tether about 25" long under the snow that I couldn't see.The snow thrower sucked almost all of it in and it was wrapped around the spindle.I cut it off, took the machine home and spent Super Bowl halftime untangling the cable and pulling it out.Damage to the machine: NONE. Zero. Zilch. Nada.Took it back after the game and finished their driveway like nothing ever happened. This little machine is built like a tank! February 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product! I'd have given it 5 stars all thru except there is no headlight, but I'm not even sure that deserves deducting a star. We looked at all the brands, compared specs & prices, etc and went with the Ariens. Some of that was due to the great job our full-size Ariens snow blower does, but let me tell you, this little guy will hang with the big machine in terms of throwing moderate snow depths, and it's a lot easier to turn. For a light snow fall, this one actually does a better job than its big brother. We got the one with the chute control on the handle bar, and electric start. LOVE the handy chute control - that way one doesn't have to reach out and waste time when turning the chute. The electric start is nice, but we don't really use it since the engine starts up first pull every time. Yes, we were a little leery at first about the foreign-sourced engine, but we felt a company like Ariens would never put their name on anything other than an excellent product, so we let go of that notion. As stated, the engine fires up first pull every time, and it is a strong little engine, too. Never bogged it down even when going through drifts higher than the blowers rated capacity. In sum, this is a great product, and it deserves to be on anyone's short list. I'd buy it again. February 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use Works like a champ. Had to get used to how it operates (and remember to turn on the key) and then no problems. It pulls you along as you move through the snow.Got it just in time for the excess snowfall the Chicago area has been experiencing this winter so it is getting a work out. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent features for price! I have the handle snow shot directional pull and that's worth the cost of this snow blower itself! Am very happy with the quality of Arien's contruction & features vs those of the competition. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Everything I expect in a snow blower Have been very pleased in my purchase. Have had snow up to 12 inches with higher drifts and this machine just takes it in stride. Used the electric start once but have found that the pull start requires just one easy pull every time. No complaints at all! January 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Machine (With Minor Problems) I bought this machine to replace “the Beast,” a 15 y.o. Craftsman single-stage, two-stroker which, despite a cracked motor, a sheared-off muffler, and many other parts missing or inoperable, still started and threw snow. But, Chicago is having a bruising winter, so why tempt fate? I bought the Ariens because of their reputation, the fact that is is mostly American made and they offered a larger engine (208cc). I have used it 3 times on snows ranging from 2 to 9 inches. Overall, I am happy with the choice but have a few nits to pick.Delivery and Assembly: The machine was delivered on-time and in good shape. Assembly was straightforward (about 20 minutes) and all the parts and hardware were there. The only nit here is that the “tools required” list states you need a 7/16 and a 3/8” wrench or ratchet. Nothing in the assembly of my machine required a 7/16” wrench. No problem but it makes you wonder if you missed something.Quality Control: The motor, housing and auger mechanisms appear to be top-notch. But, my machine has a small crack in the gas cap. This won't prevent it from functioning but, c'mon. Also, the fuel shut-off valve on my machine will only turn about a ¼ turn and that's with great difficulty. I am afraid to apply any more torque for fear of breaking the plastic knob.Design: Nice overall design. The unit has only a partial plastic cowling which allows for easy access to the motor. Gas, oil, spark-plug, primer bulb and starter (electric and pull) are all where you think they should be. My unit has a remote chute controller which is thoughtfully placed on the right-side handle and works well. The machine is designed with a metal engine guard at the rear which sticks out about 7 inches. This is a double-edged sword. The guard does protect the engine (somewhat) and is handy if you are lifting the machine off the back of a truck. When tipped backward the machine rests on this guard at about a 45 degree angle—convenient for oil changes and working on the auger. But, be aware, this guard jutting out the back makes it nearly impossible to get this machine up or down stairs. Bad news for those who keep their snow blowers in a basement in real cold weather and may be a downright deal-breaker for those with raised patio decks.Performance: The Path Pro has started easily on the times I've used it. The electric start works fine or else 1-2 pulls on the cord. Of course it has been a relatively balmy 20 degrees in Chicago this week. The real test will come at 10 below. Too bad I can't keep it in the basement on those cold nights (see above). The one weird thing about starting this machine is that even an already warmed-up motor needs a full choke to start. As for snow removal the Ariens had no problem with snow up to about 9 inches. The pull-along effect of the auger diminishes as the snow heightens. I had no problems with clogging. Ariens claims a snow throw of “up to 35 feet” – maybe, with the chute straight ahead and a strong tail wind. Practically, however, expect something in the range of 8 to 12 feet. The Path Pro is happiest on smooth level concrete. If you pick up a chuck of ice or roll over a crack in the sidewalk you will know it immediately as the machine will lurch more violently than one would expect. Otherwise, it is easy to handle and maneuver even in tight spaces. The Ariens does a pretty good job of “getting down to the pavement” revealing about 50% to 60% of pavement after a single pass. A second pass is necessary to get all the way down.Although there are some minor problems, the good far outweigh the bad. I am happy with the Path Pro and would recommend it. I think it is a worthy successor to “the Beast.” February 18, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very stout and reliable engine, but it simply doesn't clear snow well. I've had this machine for over a year now, and living in Minnesota I've had the chance to use it in all types of snow conditions. And overall it simply performs poorly. The engine seems great. Starts easily and reliably and runs very strong. But as far as clearing snow, under the very best of conditions the machine throws perhaps 75% of the snow 4 to 5 feet while the rest piles up under the machine. In most cases the snow kind of tumbles out of the chute and ends up 1 to 2 feet away. Having used single stages from competitors in the past I was eager to get my hands on an Ariens. But starting with the inconvenience of trying to put fuel in it, and its surprisingly poor snow removal, I've been very disappointed. November 19, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by I'm frankly disappointed in this product. My new Path-Pro snowthrower does not do a very good job of clearing snow from my driveway. It appears to me to be a design flaw -- the augers do not contact the pavement sufficiently. I returned my Path-Pro to the dealer (Ace Hardware of La Crosse) and the service manager told me they had received similar complaints from others. I left it there, and after checking back in a few days, I was told an Ariens representative had taken my Path-Pro back to the factory to see if they could devise a fix. Ace gave me a loaner to use. That was about 3 weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything. The loaner doesn't do a much better job of clearing snow. I paid $606.61 in good faith for my new snowthrower and I would like to have some resolution to this problem. I would either like to have my Path-Pro back with assurance that the defect has been fixed, or I would like my money back. January 28, 2014
