Rated 5 out of 5 by Hydro Rocks 2 I have owned my 28" hydro pro for just over a year and can't imagine doing without it. Why didn't I buy one year's ago. When it snows this puppy calls me out to run. It eats snow for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This was the worst winter here just south of Boston with over six feet of snow. With just one pull this oversized engine purrs to life and at half speed she throws snow clean over the cars to the front yard. I did not give it five points for design only because the controls are not intuitive. I find myself, as others using it, stopping to think about what to grab next on the controls. I love the infinite shifting and the easy turning makes it a dream to use. If you are thinking of buying one, don't hesitate, Buy it!! March 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Snow Beater This machine is the Monster Truck version of a 28 inch Snow Blower. It has more forward go power than the snowbanks can resist. If there is not enough traction just ease the drive stick back for a running start and power into the snow without fear of stalling out or clogging up. Love that hydraulic drive which makes direction changes quick and easy. The only modification I would like would be a little more leverage to move the shoot direction as it is a little stiff at max right and left while trying to hold the left lever engaged. This is a manly man's machine as it takes some strength to control it in some situations. But I still love it! Great job Ariens! March 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Live in Maine had a record breaking feb for snowfall. This machine is a beast and worth every penny. Had a couple of storms over 2' and I clear more than 20,000 sq ft. Machine never hesitated once. more than a few times I would be snowblowing and people would come up and aske me what I had for a snowblower because they would see my ariens cut through snow that theirs couldn't even make it through. I will always buy and ariens from now on. March 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wanted a snow blower for the deep and heavy snows - worked great I wanted a snow blower for when it was a deep snow and/or a heavy wet snow. In February we had 19" and wind at 25-35 mph. I used the drift cutters and hydro pro 28 went through a 3.5' to 4' drift with no problem. It would have taken several hours and most likely a sore back to do with a smaller blower. The joystick control to aim the snow is fast and easy to use. It also started very easy every time with two primes. Great machine - thanks Ariens. March 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Couldn't ask for more from a machine Wouldn't be fair to ask this much from a person.... the ability to increase speed on the fly is incredible, slow down near the road and spin with one hand, then speed up on the return pass. The machine throws snow like no other I've used. I had an old 5HP 1960 Ariens which was great, then an 11.5 hp from the late 90's until last year when I got this Hydro. Doing three driveways before work, this winter seems like every other day, average 200ft each. With this machine I can get them all done in under an hour. Including doing the 500 ft of edge of road between driveways. I make paths around my yard like a maze for the dogs. Even with the 18" storms no problem. The last storm was 3 inches of watery slush, I watched other neighbors struggle as My Hydro threw water off the driveway. Have had two relatives buy this machine this year after seeing what it could do. March 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent snow blower. I have a steep driveway and I've been through two tough winters with the Hydro Pro 28. I am thoroughly satisfied with its performance and features. Handled heavy snow as well as slush with no problems whatsoever. March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is durable and a work horse. This product has served me well ths brutal winter, it never hesitated a bit in any conditions, even slush. The hdyro control takes a bit of getting used to, but once I adjusted to it, it was great. I like the machine and would buy it again. The only issue I have is and it may be just me is the chute control lever and the hyro level to control the machine movement is they are just 3" apart and are the same shape and color and could be easily mistaken in white-outs or low light conditions. A change of shape and or color I think would be a cheap and easy fix. I traded in a John Deere for it and am not sorry. March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This Product as far as: Design, Engineering & Manufacturing, it's first class Equipment. I purchased this massive snow blowing machine in the fall of 2013. Doing so, I'm so happy that I did after this years bruttle snow bombardment. This machine started everytime on the second pull! Yes, I could of use the electric start but I'm still young yet. MANEUVERABILITY IS OUTSTANDING with the transmission disengagement lever. This is a GREAT option to have when you just want to move this machine around. All the controls are right in front of you which makes this machine very easy to operate and control when you are blowing snow 50 plus feet!! YES 50 + FEET!!! Its amazing to watch and I notice my neighbors watch and enjoy the show too......(HAHAHAHA) The Hydrostatic transmission lets you control your speed from crawling down steep hills to full throttle on flat surfaces. I plowed through snow 3.0 feet deep of heavy wet New England snow with ease. I can't say enough about this machine, very happy with it and how it performs!!! Outstanding job Ariens!!!! I uploaded a video of my son (18) training how to operate this machine. He had a ball doing it. We cleared my Driveway, Side yard (on both sides of my house) and backyard (in the video). Both neighbors driveways and sidewalks on each side of my house. Did I mention how it blows Heavy Wet Plowed snow at the end of my driveway?...... NO PROBLEM!!!!! March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by More Power When "Tim the Tool man" said " more power" he must have been thinking Ariens Pro line because they definately have it. Best snow machine I have ever owned. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by hydro is a major improvement Overall an improvement over my 10 year old 320cc Ariens. The Hydro is the main improvement in that you can go very slowly thru deep snow allowing you only to pass thru once and take full cuts.the differential allows easy maneuverability. The 420 cc engines starts very easily, you do not need the electric start,It has adequate power but certainly need about 50% more power for deeper snow.It could use a twin cylinder engine ( 600 to 700 cc) for storms over 12 inches of snow.Twin belts are a big improvement .Shute Controls are easy to useOverall a very nice machine, definitely get the hydro,And if the engineers are listening please put a twin cylinder engine for deep snow storms and you would have a perfect machine March 4, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best machine I have ever bought Very pleased with my purchase. I have never had a machine work so well for me. I work much less than I did with my Toro which was also a good machine but too small for my needs. March 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This IS be the Best Machine ever! This machine is a Monster! Nothing will stop it, it handles anything with hardly any effort and never bogs down at all. I love the hydrostatic drive, no shifting gears - go from reverse to full forward in seconds - awesome! With the 420 CC engine I can throw the snow all the way to my neighbors yard with no problem. The Auto-Turn Steering is awesome too, you can turn on a dime with very little effort. With the hand warmers and chute controls this is by far the Best snow blower I have ever had! March 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I like like especially the heated handles & the job it does getting the snow far out. Dear Folks at Ariens,Sure love this mammoth snow shovel !!!!!Really like the canopy, will never have one without a canopy now. Those nice warm handles sure help a lot.First snow, ran it about 4 hours & was glad I had the Ariens Hdro 32 to fight that 18 inch snow fall.I was 81 years old Dec. 21, 2014 and can handle the Hdro Pro 32 very wellThank you for a good piece of snow removal equipment !!!!Larry S. March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great piece of equipment the 32" hydro series is a great piece of equipment , the motor has a lot of power, the hydro drive took a little getting used to but gives you full control and is very smooth, the blower turns on a dime with very little effort. I'm glad i convinced my self to spend the money on an hydro, I will never by a blower with out in again, also they hold their value for a long time if well maintained. March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Serious performer This machine is very easy-to-use and I love the electric key start. I never have to look for an extension cord or a working outlet. All the controls are easy-to-use. The gas tank is very large and you can easily remove snow all day long. I have made a couple modifications including an upgraded headlight as well as a switch for the headlight which also doubles as a key in the run position indicator. The only other modification I think is necessary is the chute does not turn far enough to the left or the right to adequately put snow behind the machine. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just the machine we needed! This unit replaced a smaller Snapper snow blower with a friction drive. With our 400' driveway with slope and our location within five miles of the leeward side of Lake Michigan, the extra horsepower and hydrostatic drive are a must. The auto-turn and hand warmer features have been a pleasant surprise. This Ariens is truly "a keeper"-Craig in Michigan March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by By Far The Best Ariens I Have Owned Since the winter of '96-'97 I have owned 5 Ariens Snow Blowers. I started out with a 7.5 HP 24-inch wide model and I have worked my way up to larger, more capable models, until this past November I replaced my Professional 28-inch model with the new Hydro Pro 32 12 volt model.I have a 65' x 250' asphalt road, two 250' x 4' side-walks, and a 20' x 110' driveway with a 40' x 40' pad outside my garage to clear. This is by far the best of any of my Snow-Thros. The 32-inch wide clearing path saves me approximately 25% of the time it use to take me with my Pro 28-inch model. The Briggs and Stratton 2100 engine is vastly superior when compared to the Tecumseh engine in my Pro 28. It runs quieter, starts easier, uses less fuel, and delivers significantly more useable torque than the Tecumseh. The Hydro drive system is a joy to use. I can start out at a slow speed and by just pushing the lever forward I can increase my speed, without have to shift gears. The increased speed in Reverse is greatly appreciated. The Quick-Turn feature makes turning the machine very easy, while also being able to have both wheels engaged when going in a straight line. This is a great machine! February 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by The product as moved our snow with no problems. The machine has worked well and will plow into and blow about any depth of snow. The issue I have is a one of design. I think the throttle and chock controls should be up between the handles not forward on the side of the motor. It would make the start procedure much less awkward. One big plus for me is the hand warmer feature. I really appreciate that. March 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by not what you would expect Living in the northern climates of Canada has a wide diverse range of weather.I found this unit only being able to move after a good 5 minute warmup at a minus 30 degree celcuis day. The chute movement is terrible as too move it a little you have to swing it to one side the swing it back. The plus side is the Briggs and Stratton purrs and one touch of the key and it is has ample power...but for the price I am not really that impressed. My 2006 Ariens 32 LE does just as good as a job.I hope they redesign the chute movement mechanism and realize that some snowblower are left outside in the elements March 4, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Work Horse This unit made even the heaviest snows no challenge to get rid of. As I get older if was nice to have the extra assist when making turns. Way to go Ariens March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Possibly the best snowblower made. I can't definitely say it is the best, since I have only owned 4 snowblowers in my life, but this machine is awesome. The only possible improvement that could be made is a faster reverse, but that is maybe a safety issue. This winter has been a great test for the machine with several 24 inch plus storms, and this machine threw the snow a mile all the time. I hope it lasts a long time and see no reason it shouldn't. I originally wanted the 32" key start one, but it was out of stock so I got the 36". I've discovered that the electric start is irrelevant, since the machine fires up by the time the pull cord is only halfway out. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wisconsin snowfalls are no match for this machine. Pros, Love the power. Love the handling. Love,Love the heated hand grips. This should be the last snow thrower I should ever have to purchase. Wisconsin precipitation has been kind of weak so far this season to really put this machine through a real workout.Cons, On second trip out of the garage, Part number 04511000 Plastic Dash -Shift Bezel broke into two pieces at weakest point. Decal on dash plate would be fine. ALSO - Chute directional discharge hand control stick feels sloppy. I thought operation felt OK in showroom but in real life usage the chute bounces back before it catches at preferred discharge point. A dual cable system may work/feel better. Or the ice auger control of chute direction would be a preferred method of operation over the joy stick and cable operation. I have checked with Ariens and a conversion kit is not available. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great machine! The machine is a beast specially this winters best investment made. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quite the snow mover Very maneuverable, very powerful...actually throws snow further than my 7 ft snowblower mounted on my John Deere 3320....simply a great machine. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A bear of a machine This is a huge powerful machine. It throws 18" of dry snow 40-50' without any difficulty. It handles wet, slushy, water-soaked snow without clogging. All the controls work flawlessly and the Hydro-Pro drive is a dream. It's the only joy that nearly 60" of snow in our region has brought; it's almost fun. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a very good machine. I had a 32" Ariens that was great and I was ready for a new one. I am in a heavy snow area in North Idaho so it gets a good workout every time I used it. I traded it in and happened to fall into a sale at the end of the season on the Hydro Pro 36. I have a hydro on my lawn mower but was told that Ariens just put them on the upper end blowers. It works great. No more shifting gears. It is smooth and worked great all winter long. The quality of the blower is typical Ariens. They are the best blowers out there as far as I am concerned. No problems. The motor runs like a champ. Highly recommend this blower if you are in heavy snow areas. No problem with wet snow......cuts right through it. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what I wanted and more The Hydro Pro 36" is a great machine. I did the research this snow blower is a great value for me. I live in the snow belt 500 yards from Lake Michigan in Holland, MI. When the lake effect snow machine cranks up we get snow. The features that really make this machine a great value:- Hydro Pro drive system. Very easy to change speed & direction.- Auto-Turn very easy to turn, turns in it's own radius.- Heated hand grips. Must have. Works great.- Cold weather start. One pull starts right up in 5 degree weather.- 36" width with 420 cc gets the job done. Lots of power to blow 12" of new snow 30 plus feet. Drive way is over 100 yards in length, plus a large parking area for 6 cars and a circle turn around. The snow trucks will plug the end of our driveway. This beast handles all of this, no trouble at all.- Deflector control remote provides laser placement of the white stuff.- Light brings daytime to night.- Local dealer fully assembled and delivered the unit. Gased up & ready to go. Made it easy for me.Great value. Easy to use. Lots of power. Buy it now!Ric. Holland, MI February 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ariens HydroPro 36 Takes on the Colorado High Country! We live up at 8,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies and use our HydroPro 36 to clear snow from approximately 4,500 sqft of concrete driveway pavers and brick walks at the entryway to our home. This machine's incredible torque handles big snowfalls and tall drifts with ease, tossing it up to 50 feet away (even wet springtime snow). The convenience of their shift-on-the fly hydrostatic transmission is the Icing on the Cake ... no more stopping to change speed ranges or to shift the machine into "Reverse" like our previous snow thrower. Other well thought-out features include the console mounted controls for the chute position and angle, and the heated hand grips! It starts on the first pull every time and makes short work of every job we throw at it. Well worth the price. I highly recommend installing Ariens' accessory Non-Abrasive Skid Shoes for clearing snow from decorative surfaces such as pavers and brick! Kudos to Ariens for bringing such a well-engineered workhorse to the marketplace! May 9, 2013
