Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 150reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by quick starting, throws wet or dry snow a long long way, powerful for its size The winter season in NS is about the worst it can be. In a typical snowstorm the temp starts out well below freezing and ends up above the freezing. Begins with snow and ends with rain followed by a rapid freeze. The Ariens starts with one pull, runs a long time on a tank of gas, and does an excellent job of clearing everything from fine powder to slush. I have to be careful with where the chute is pointed as it throws the snow a long way. I usually have to deflect it to almost horizontal. I don't want angry as well as jealous neighbors. It would be nice if the reverse speeds were a little faster but the machine is light enough to move easily. My previous machine was a 27 inch model (not Ariens) and I thought I might be making a mistake downsizing but that is definitely not the case. great product so far. Can't comment on durability as I have only had it for a relatively short period of time. February 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by What a machine I have owned my Ariens now for about three years. The first year we used it alot here in Pa. Last year some but not as much. This year so far i have used it ALOT!. Starrts on the first pull each time. Cuts thru almost anything i put in front of it. I have even use it in my back yard to cut a path to my wood pile. Even my neighbor across the street admires it and is planning on getting one just like it. We live on a pretty steep hill and it clears the road without any problem. I guess the only complaint I have is i have to use it in the cold. Anything you can do about that? February 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great performance great machine. Dealer forgot to tighten and adjust auger cable and shift linkage - I fixed this myself. Sometimes upon disengaging the auger something is banging against the black plastic belt cover - maybe need more adjustment. February 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smooth operation This snowblower manuvers effortlessly around my driveway. The controls work with a light touch which is great. February 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This snowblower is absolutely wonderful! I couldn't be more pleased with the way this snow blower performed for me. I am a middle-aged woman, living in Chicago, and we had a blizzard this past Super Bowl weekend 2015. My area got 19 inches of snow; with drifts much higher than that. Neverthless, I was able to clear out heavy snow with little effort. It was the first time in my life I enjoyed clearing out snow. It is self-propelled and it never clogged up, even though part of my clearing involved salt mixed, mud like snow from a busy street. I am honestly tickled with this snow blower. It truly is the King of Snow. To my fellow women out there, don't be afraid to get this machine. It is easy to start and easy to handle...even though it's a power house. I got mine from a certified dealer and they put it together for me and showed me the basics. I quickly got over my initial hesitation, and after a bit of practice, I felt like a pro out there.Thank you Ariens! February 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best snow blower I've ever owned... I've run about 5 snow blowers in my life and so far my Ariens model 920021 is the best of the bunch. I've had it in snow up to a foot deep sofar this winter and it handled perfectly. I don't want to knock the competition, but I was looking at another brand unit of similar size a few weeks ago and the cable that engages the wheels popped off from it's pulley. I noticed that most of the back end hardware was sticking much farther out on that unit than on my Ariens. Just another sign to me that the people at Ariens know how to design a quality machine. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent machine I would recommend this snow blower to anyone. I purchased it in the fall, bought it but because of surgery, I was unable to use it for the first time but my wife volunteered to clear the 8" of snow. She was done in record time (once she learned how to operate the machine) and then took it over to our neighbors house. The 94 year old man that lives there took over from her and finished his driveway. Our neighbor wants to get one now! January 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is a great value Starts right up and throws the snow a great distance. Only my first season with it but haven been very satisfied with its performance January 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Snow Blower I bought the Ariens compact 22 this year and was able to use it a few times. Let me tell you this machine works great. Very easy to start and control. This thing really shoots the dry or wet snow. Last weekend it snowed Fri. into Sat..I decided to go hunting Sat. morning. So around 9.30 am i figured i needed to get home to clear the driveway. Well to my surprise it was cleared when i got home. I asked my wife who cleared the driveway. She told me she went out in the shed read the manual on how to start it and away she went. She said she didnt even use the electric start. 2nd pull it started right up. Now thats what i call Awsome snow blower. January 28, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Compact 24 For such a small machine it is very powerful. starts first pull every time even though it has electric start it is just as easy to hand pull to start. It easily throws snow 30 feet or more. I am very impressed and would recommend this machine. I live in Ontario and we get a lot of snow Thanks Ariens William Mays January 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 powerful This is my second Ariens. The first lasted 25 yrs. Always starts on the first pull. Very powerful and gets through the snow down to the pavement. Convenient and operable behind the unit. I find it very safe and very functional. January 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a great machine for someone looking for an American made snow blower that is built to last I am a 25 year contractor in the skilled trades business, with extensive hands on experience in the knowledge, use and operation of large power equipment -- and from time to time , the repairing of said equipment. This review is written based on that platform, not on brand loyalty, etc. Before I state my official review, let me just add that I was using a one stage snow blower ( of a competing brand ) for several years prior, and I wanted to upgrade due to having more area to clear. Also, the one stage S.B. just couldn't do the larger , wetter snowfalls we get here in Ohio very well ; It would always clog up and I had to do the clearing in intervals : Going out after three inches of snow, and again after another three inches, etc. So before I went out and purchased a S.B. this time , I did extensive research online , studying the criteria of the different brands, the added features, etc. , and especially the reviews from various websites. Here is my official review for this product : I purchased it from my local Home Depot, they had a good price , and they had it shipped to the store and did not charge me shipping if I came and picked it up. I went down to the store with my friend and we loaded the fully crated machine in to my van . The Home Depot folks were a pleasure to deal with. I prefer to look at and touch things before I buy, so this was the right move for me. I know you can save just a few bucks more ordering from some other companies online, but then you have to deal with lots of problems I won't get in to here. The machine looked and felt solid. It was all metal, heavy gauge metal at that. Compared to the other brands that were set up around it in the store, it was a no brainer decision. I brought it home and read the owners manual very thoroughly, and then proceeded to assemble it. Listen folks, if you read reviews online somewhere about somebody saying that they put this thing together in 20 minutes or so, they are lying. Or, they are one of those idiots who wrote some bad review , saying that it broke down, or didn't perform, or some other nonsense. The reason it did, if they were telling the truth, is that they just flew through the assembly process and didn't bother to read the instructions. This is an expensive and complicated piece of machinery that will last you a lifetime if you just read the manual -- I mean read everything and follow it to the "T". It is not super difficult, but even though I am very skilled at repairing and assembly, it still took me almost four hours to do it right and cross all my T's and dot all the I's. I suggest for those out there that are "mechanically challenged" , to hire a local snow blower repair man # Yes they do exist -- check out your local Craigs' List ads # to assemble it for you. I'm pretty sure he could do it faster than me , but in all fairness to me, I could do it faster now too, if I had to put another one together ! Here in Ohio, we got our first heavy snowfall one week after I bought it , around Dec. 6th, 2013. This machine was a pleasure to operate, and the controls and features were easy to get used to. It performed exactly like all of the prior reviewers had said from my earlier research. As of today, Jan.28th. 2014, I have used it seven times , and I have become the envy of my neighbors . The last time I used it, cars were driving down the street and slowing way down to look at me -- my guess is that they were trying to figure out how some fairly compact machine could throw 5 to 6 inches of snow 40 plus feet ! Or , maybe they were one-stagers , as I now can call them , and they were trying to figure out what brand of two stage S.B. I was using. Kudos to the Ariens Co., for making it bright orange and easily identifiable ! This product is very durable, and I expect to have it for many, many years to come. It started up on the first pull, right out of the box , and every time since ! I am 54 years old and in physically great shape , so I don't use the electric starter. The headlight was a necessity for me, since I do quite a bit of snow clearing in the evening hours. And it does help immensely. One tip I would like to add : Buy yourself a can of silicone/ Teflon spray and before the first use, spray the entire inside area's of where the snow will accumulate , like the chute, etc. The snow won't stick very much to those places when you are finished. I actually sprayed the entire machine , inside and out, and I am glad that I did that. When you put it in your garage after a good use, the snow just falls off the next day or so. I also bought one of those 4'x 3' indoor-outdoor rugs, and I park the machine on it after I'm done . I was watching a Discovery program shortly after buying this and they were showing ski resort operators in Europe using Ariens branded equipment -- that only reinforced my decision that I bought from the best company. There are many more things I can say, but this review is already very long , so let me say this : It takes forever to go through a tank of gas ! This is a great buy for someone looking for an American made S.B. that is built to last. P.S. -- My driveway is 100' long with a huge parking area in the rear , and it takes me less than 30 minutes to clear 4 - 5" of snow ! January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A SAVIOR I bought Ariens model 920014 ST24LE compact last August 2014. It saved me during very heavy snow in February (around 100") in Lexington MA!Very easy to operate, easy start, light, good snow removal from my 70' long driveway, even when the snow was wet.The only feature I would recommend to change on the future models is: to turn down about 15 - 20 degrees the light - in the night time it is blinding!Thank you very much! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great ease of operation Starts right up. Love the easy gas line turn off; allowing running fuel out of carburetor to eliminate gumming up during extended periods of non-use. Easy swivel for directing snow discharge. Picks up snow completely. Easy to turn. March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great performance, features, in a little warrior I got this Ariens 920021 in spring '14, after any appreciable snow had gone by. As a complete rookie with snowblowers I did a lot of research online, and over the phone. Most things I'd read suggested I'd get a better deal from one of the online wholesalers. While emailing with Boston Lawnmower was quoted a better price, with free delivery and set-up. Buying from them was a no-brainer.Now in February of a record breaking winter in the Boston metro area, I've had multiple uses with the machine. In all but one storm the machine was in over its head (literally), and came through a champ. Starts easy, runs perfectly, and exceeds its rating. Everything this year has been dry snow so I can't rate its heavy, wet performance. Couldn't be happier! February 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome machine First winter with this machine. I have been impressed with the ease of starting and operating it.It will throw snow 40 foot if it is light dry snow. It had no problem with the wet snow. Chute never plugged once. Reverse speeds were to slow so I found it easier to just pull it. For the price it is a well built and optioned machine. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellant machine Found my 24 " Compact snowblower to be an excellent replacement for my single stage snow thrower especially at the end of the driveway where the snow plow piles the snow from the road. It cuts right through the packed snow. Have already recommend Ariens to a few people looking for a snowblower and my neighbour ended up buying the 28" model and he loves it ! February 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Our snowblower is really excellent! We appreciate the large size of the tires... Alos it is really easy to star it! February 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this blower! Purchased my first ever blower this fall. After doing my research I landed on an Ariens. I have not been disappointed at all. The first snow of the season came with rain so it was wet and slushy. It worked great on the slushy wet snow. Just in the last week we have had three 30cm snowfalls. It always starts on the first pull and has no problem throwing the snow. Great controls and features. I love it so much that people think I am crazy wishing for snow so that I can get out and use it.
