Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Machine Just got mine this past weekend and it performs flawlessly. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is in the market for a new rider. I am 63 and have owned many riders and this is the BEST yet. May 24, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Zero turn. Great mower well built. Old mower had no turning radius, so I just hit the high spots and used a push mower to get the trim. Then a weed eater to finish. Now I have no need for a push mower. I have had my mower for 7 years and have had no problems. Fun to ride and a great time saver. September 18, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Makes mowing the lawn fun again! Bought the zoom 34 last year, because I had to get through the neighbors gate, and it has been the best investment I've made in years. I have recently been mowing the neighbors yards due to their age and also doing my mother-in-law down the street. In all I mow 5 yards including my own. Fortunately they are all small fenced in yards of maybe 1/3 acres. This thing turns on a dime, cuts in both directions, mulches and runs like a deer through these yards! What use to take me 3 1/2 hours now takes me a little over 1 1/2 hrs! Well made, great engine and relatively quiet, a very economical machine for the average homeowner. Learning to drive the machine takes about ten minutes and maintenance is all accessible and well thought out! Thinking on buying another for my son who has a much larger plot . . . June 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mowing is fun again. The flaws it has are the same flaws that you will find in every make of Zero Turn Mower. Basically they would be tire spin, and bald spots cause by the tires when you turn too sharp. With a little practice, you learn to control those. Other that that, the mower does a great, and quick job, especially if you have a long, straight run. It's a well built machine. June 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Zoom 34 cuts my grass just like I want it! It is fun to drive! So Far I have not any problems cutting grass with my Zoom34! Still have to use the grascutter for cerain spots! Fun to operate but not fun to wash! I cannot get all the grass off the mowerdeck and blades but I did exactly what you told me and I will keep on trying! I love my Zoom 34! It is my new baby! I do not know how often to sharpen the blades or change the oil though! I might use synthetic next oil change! Made in America is great! My 60's Ariens snowblower is still running strong so I know my Zoom will be with me for a long time! June 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great features Bought the Zoom 34 last year and the biggest regret I have is I waited so long. Took a ho hum job that I hated to a job I now enjoy. It runs great and it as easy to operate as could be. June 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product and support Had mine for 4 years. Bought it after open heart surgery. Cutting my HUGE (lol) 6,000 sq ft yard is now a joy. Wouldn't trade it for the world. The support tech and performance dept has some great people to help with any questions or need you may have. That's important to me to be able to count on the company you bought something from to be there for you. Max May 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy It I just traded in my old Zero Turn 34 for a new ZT 34 instead of doing a tune up on the old one. I have a 60x150 lot which with a regular mower would take lot of time and I am 78 yrs old. I had the old one for 7 seasons. I love it because it is easy to get on and off it. It is very easy to drive and a pleasure to mow with. It has a spacious front deck which I use to haul around sacks of mulch, dirt etc. Being tall and older, it would be hard getting off and on a tractor. Every spring it has started right up for me. I remove the battery and keep it on charge during the winter. This is a rugged machine. I also have an Ariens 28" Snowblower which I would also highly recommend. May 15, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by WOW! From Tractor to Zero turn.. I have had my zero turn arien and its been really great! I have mow at top speed and low speed. When i bought this zero turn i was really scared of driving a machine like this until i took it home. This mower was bought at home depot. I test drove a toro time cutter there and i didnt like the feeling of not being in control. A couple weeks later i test drove this ariens and i was sold. Really great product and probably going to buy one of each size deck just because i like them so much! June 8, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by This mower is great and American made, nothing metric. I bought this mower last year (915141) and got a bagger kit (815036) for it. My grass retains so much moisture that the bagger would plug up. I got in touch with the factory warrenty people and got the problen resolved. I tried it against a competer (it was blue) and had started to rain. Finally the blue machine had to quit mowing because his blower kept plugging up. They asked me if I could make his high price mower do as good as my ZOOM 42 and I gave him the phone number for an Ariens dealer. I have about $3000.00 less money in my mower than his and my Zoom is hands down better than his speedster 44. May 30, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by FANTASTIC!!!!!! I wanted to share my thoughts about the Ariens Zoom 42 I received yesterday. I have wanted a zero turn tractor for quite some time and wanted to treat myself due to me turning 50 years old in a few months. There are many zero turn tractors in the market place and I researched many online. I chose the Ariens Zoom 42 due to the high praise and positive remarks concerning this mower. When the trucking company arrived yesterday with my order I felt like a kid at Christmas. I ordered the mower from Mchenry Power Equipment in Mchenry Illinois online. The salesman Art was very helpful and professional. When I finally got the crate removed I was totally impressed with what I saw. The pictures I reviewed online did the mower no justice. The quality and craftsman ship A+++. I checked the oil and added fuel and boy did it come to life. The Kohler 20 HP engine was very smooth and strong. I tried the mower out today and the cutting performance and power were incredible!!! No bog and the mower zipped through with no trouble. Thanks Ariens for a great mower at a great price!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by By this mower Easy to drive. It took one mowing to get the hang of it but what fun. Looked at a Toro and others but the triple blade deck and reviews sold me on Ariens. Only Ariens had a 42" deck with three blades. The triple blades mows real nice. I bought some nice wheel covers for it. looks real cool. August 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Zoom 42 makes it fun to cut lawn. Since I bought my Zoom the grass doesn't grow fast enough. Keeping my horse pasture trimmed takes 1/3 the time it used to. June 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Zoom, Zoom I love this machine, replaced a JD lawn tractor and cut mowing time in half. Does a much better cut over bumps, etc. . its like going from a bicycle to a Harley !! I now look forward to mowing, its a chore no more !! June 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Mower We mow 2 acres of grass 2 times a week.....we are loving our new mower. June 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Delighted with purchase. This is my first ZTR mower so I really can't compare the performance to other manufacturers but I did choose this brand over others while reviewing options. The standard rear hitch was one of those features.Ariens customer service was prompt when I had a question about choke operation. My question to myself is why did I wait so long in my life to purchase this mower. What a difference this mower makes on time and cut. June 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Off to MOW we go Compared specifications among various homeowner/residential units. Ariens and Gravely met my needs/desires. Price was tie-breaker with Ariens winning over Gravely. No problems in first 6 months of ownership. June 13, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this mower! I spent a couple weeks researching ZTR mowers before deciding on the Ariens Zoom 50. I looked at all the box home improvement and tractor stores, but ended up buying this from a local dealer. The Ariens design is nicer and more compact than some of the other brands, and I found out that the other ZTR brands are made by the same manufacturer with different stickers on them - Ariens are their own standalone brand, made in the USA!This was my first time with a ZTR, and it took me about 1/2 of the first mowing to get used to it. But our 2 acres with about 20 trees, sandbox, well, etc. only took about 35 minutes on the first mow - it used to take over an hour with our old 46" mower! Plus the lines are perfectly straight, and the circles around the trees are perfect! My wife, who is now 8 months pregnant, insists on mowing every week. Even at 8 months pregnant, the ride is smooth enough, and it is easy enough to drive that anyone should be able to master it. I even recommended that my 80 year old father with 5 mowed acres consider getting one! After three months and a dozen mows, we haven't had a single issue - which I would hope with any new mower purchase. One thing I found is that my wife and I have now become "mower snobs" and look down on people we see mowing their lawns with standard steering wheel drive mowers! If you are thinking about getting this mower, stop thinking and get it! If you are thinking about buying a different mower, buy this one! July 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent machine This machine rocks! I have almost 2 acres and this thing makes short work of it. This is my 3rd Mower in 12 years and by far the best. My lawn looks like a golf course. Nice ride and easy to clean. I also own an Ariens snow blower. Made in America and they are are well built! June 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing lawnmower Ariens Z50Just purchased a new house with 1 acre of lawn to mow. This beast handles the humps, trees, hills and grass with ease. I even has an area of previously un-mowed hay/grass which was about 18" high. Went through it like it was nothing. Neighbor was mowing his lawn with an Ariens tractor and could only mow at half the rate this beast can mow at.Worth every penny. June 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by good power Z50 has good power and a great cut . Just the first summer of use. June 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great mower, Great mower its fast and cut my 1 acre lawn mowing time down from 2.5 hrs on my murry to 1 hr so thats nice aswell the wife likes to run it she says its like a tiltawoorl ride at the fair. only negitive i can say for it is that one of the engine cover bolts fell out so it got alittle tweaked so its off now inunitl i can replace it or do whatever. But other and that great mower. i also bought a much kit and armrest with the mower. August 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent mower for even a small yard I have had lower back issues for many years and finally decided it was time for a riding mower. I did a lot of research on the Internet and decided on the Zoom 50. Love it!!! There are only three cautions with this mower. You have to be careful when making sharp turns as it can easily tear up the grass. The same is true in sloped areas, which I have. I do some of the sloped areas with my old push mower. Also, you shouldn't pause or stop on the lawn with the mower running. It will burn the grass if you do.My next door neighbor is one of those guys who knows everything about engines (he is a retired auto worker). He checked it out after I got it and said that it is the best engine design he has seen in riding mowers. June 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this mower!!! I very seldom need to use a weedeater any longer. Can go around trees easily now. Get mowing done so much faster now. June 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Working My Way Up The Lawn Mower Food Chain When we both lost our jobs in 2009 and couldn’t find comparable new ones we decided to try something different and purchased a bed and breakfast in Florida. The seller said he had a lawn mower so I left mine back in St. Louis for the purchasers of our house there. The house was on two and a half lots, which is to say it’s one big mother. The first time I tried to mow I discovered that while the lawn mower I left was self-propelled, this one was not. Being over sixty, after just ten minutes in the hot Florida sun pushing this mower I was exhausted. This just would not do.A new friend gave me the name of a young man who had a small landscaping company and I called him and he offered to cut our lawn for one flat monthly fee of $165.00. At the time we thought our bed and breakfast was going to be busier than it turned out, so I agreed. It didn’t rain much, and Carlos was only coming twice a month to cut the grass and edge. I decided we really couldn’t afford to have a “gardener” at our current income level. I rationalized at the rate Carlos was charging, if I bought a pretty good self-propelled lawn mower and cut the grass myself. “within 3 months it would pay for itself.”The Ascent Up The Mower Food Chain BeginsI sold the little “toy” mower I had on Craigslist and ordered a self-propelled mower on line from Home Depot. It cost me just under $300. It worked great for three weeks. Then it wouldn’t start. I went back on line and read through the reviews, and now in addition to the ones I first saw when selecting this model, there were two that stated they had difficulties after 3 or 4 cuts getting the mower to start. Yikes!I decided if I could get the new mower in the trunk of my car I was going to return it to my local Home Depot. It just barely fit, but I was able to transport it back to Home Depot and they were very nice about my returning it.Why Not Get A Riding Mower? Now I was in this mindset where by using Carlos as my baseline, I could justify an even bigger purchase. If he charged $165 a month to cut our lawn, it would only take me a little over 4 months to save what the smallest riding mower cost at $699. That was the case I presented to my wife. To my amazement she agreed and once again I got on line and ordered the next mower from Home Depot. The reason I kept going on line was because I don’t own a truck, and delivery was free on this mower. When the mower arrived it came on a pallet and the delivery driver and I pushed it up the incline of my driveway and into our yard. I unpacked it and found I needed to assemble the steering column, wheel, and the seat. Not a major problem, and done within about twenty minutes. With my wife’s help, we got the mower off the pallet and I filled the tank with gasoline and started it up.There was a learning curve and I hit a tree or two, the fence, a wall, but ultimately mastered tooling around the lot on it. The only problem was because I had bounced it off of several immovable objects, the tires all went flat. I was able to fix them all with tire sealer, which in fact the manufacturer recommended in the owner’s manual to prevent leaks and dry rot.I had cut the lawn four times and was on my fifth when I ran over a small rut in the lawn. The front wheels turned violently perpendicular to the axle, and because I was gripping the steering wheel fairly tight, a plastic adapter cracked. Suddenly, I had no steering! I narrowly avoided hitting a tree head on.I called up the manufacturer, and the man I spoke with said he would send me a new adapter at no charge. I told him that I thought they should have made that part out of metal, and not plastic, and he agreed. He said the part would arrive in about a week.A week went by and the part didn’t arrive. I called the manufacturer again and this time talked to someone else. The gentleman was quite candid. First, he informed me that he had no record of the part being ordered for me. Secondly, he said that particular part was out of stock on backorder. Last, and most importantly, he told me that 280 other people were waiting for that part. Double YIKES!I concluded that this was an engineering defect, and felt the mower should be recalled. Someone could get hurt; I almost did.Good Old Carlos To The RescueAfter talking it over with my wife, we decided if I was going to use a riding lawn mower, I needed to get a good one, not a cheap one that put my life in danger. Using the Carlos base formula of saving $165 a month, I reasoned I could buy a bigger and better riding lawn mower for about $1000, and have it “paid off” in approximately 6 months. This time I couldn’t take the mower back to Home Depot in the trunk of my car, so I called up Carlos and arranged to hire him to bring over his trailer and help me take the riding mower to Home Depot and wait for me to buy another one, that we would bring back home. We decided to do this on Saturday at 9:00 AM.Carlos showed up on time and we slowly loaded the riding mower on to his trailer. Every few feet I had to straighten the front wheels with my hands, as we could not steer it. When we got to Home Depot I went inside with the paperwork to do the return. While I was at Home Depot I saw an Ariens riding mower with a zero turn radius that was on sale. It was marked down from $2300 to $1999. I called up my wife and told her this was what I really wanted, and that I had just settled for each of the other ones because of price. The Carlos Formula Works Again!Using the Carlos base formula of $165 per month in “savings” I estimated at $1999 for the new riding mower, I could pay it off in about a year. Quite a leap from the first self-propelled walk behind mower that would have been paid off in just a few months. We got the new riding lawn mower home, and Carlos was kind enough to try it out for me and then teach me how to operate it. It was fast and powerful, and unlike the cheaper riding mower did not require a complicated shifting process to change speeds or go into reverse. All I had to do was pull a lever on each side back to go in reverse. I quickly learned how to turn using the levers, and how to get really close to objects in the yard without hitting them.I decided to post a review of the riding mower that I had problems with and got on line and gave a detailed report. I explained exactly what part was made out of plastic and quoted the man who told me 280 of those parts were on back order. I ended my review with my opinion that a major recall should be down on that model.A week later I received a telephone call from Home Depot’s corporate office. The nice lady I spoke with reviewed my report. I informed her I hadn’t given up on Home Depot and described my ascent up the lawn mower food chain. I explained how I went from a $299 self-propelled lawn mower to a $1999 zero radius turning riding mower. She told me that Home Depot appreciated my feedback as well as my loyalty to their store. In appreciation she said they were sending me a $500 gift card! Triple Yikes! SWEET!I received the card within a few days of her telephone call. Meanwhile, I have cut my lawn for the past year now with the Ariens riding mower and am happy to report I am completely satisfied with it, and have had no problems at all.According to my calculations, using the Carlos formula, in the past year I have more than paid for my new Ariens riding mower. I haven’t had one single problem with it, and even after a year it’s still fun to tool around on. My wife says she’s just happy I wasn’t in the market for a new car. June 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love my Ariens Zoom 1634 I have owned my Zoom for nearly four years now. It has proven to be a very reliable and efficient rider for me. Easy to drive, an maintain. I have about 3/4 acre to cut and can do it in just about an hour with great results. It is apparant after these four years that this mower will hold up for a long time with minimal maintenance and adequate care. It is nice to find a product like this, compared to so many other purchases I make. June 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This mower is a great value I have owned my Zoom 42 w/ B&S 16.5 HP for about 2 years. I thought I was priced out of the zero turn market till I found this mower. It does a great job, and has cut my mowing time from 2 hours to 30 minutes. I have had absolutely no problems, starts first time every time. Love it. June 13, 2012
