Governor Dave Heineman Visits ACI

July 15, 2005

The Governor and a host of federal, state and local dignitaries gathered at Auburn Consolidated Industries Thursday, July 14, 2005, to recognize the local industry's ranking among the elite in the U.S. in terms of safety to workers. During brief remarks before an estimated crowd of more than 300 persons gathered on the south side of the plant, Heineman conveyed the many benefits the new Nebraska Advantage package will offer business and industry, particularly the package's increased emphasis on small to medium-sized businesses. "Small communities, small businesses still are the backbone to allow us to grow as a state. There's no better community example than ACI."

"We're so pleased that Governor Heineman and the Legislature have gone the extra mile to support manufacturing in the state," said Steve Skaggs, materials manager with ACI. "We're pleased to show that a Nebraska company can build a superior product that can compete nationwide and worldwide. If you look at our mowers (Warrior and Hornet), it says 'made with pride in Auburn, Nebraska' and we mean it. Thanks to the governor and the state for showing us your support, showing that you care about us as a manufacturer and helping us grow and prosper in the future." Heineman said, "I couldn't be prouder to be down here today because this is a community and this is a company that is on the move and we want to help you grow.
